"Dear Julie, Just wanted to say how great it has been wearing my new wig- it has given me such confidence. Feedback from friends and family has been wonderful, so positive. People who haven't known I  lost my hair, think I have just had it restyled a different way. They are completely shocked when I say it is a wig. I am so pleased with my hair piece, that I am ordering another one in another colour. Thank you so much."

My Hair Loss Story E-mail
Julie MorrisI was diagnosed with Alopecia when I was 18. I was extremely upset and scared. As time went on however, the hair loss seemed to stabilize and there was no need for a wig. I didn’t really think much about it as I had thick hair and it was easily covered.

When I was 22 and was engaged to be married and the wedding plans were up and running, my hair loss accelerated and I was losing hair by the handful. Within a couple of weeks I had to start wearing a wig. This of course was devastating, and all the more so as I was getting married in a few weeks! I did manage to find a wig I was fairly happy with and the wedding went ahead as planned. Shortly after the wedding I lost my eyebrows and eyelashes as well. Over the years I have tried various forms of treatment, such as creams and cortisone injections. All to no avail.

I have now had alopecia for 24 years. I have worn a wig for 17 of them. I have had some wigs I really loved and other wigs which weren’t so great. The hardest part for me was walking into a wig shop for the first time.  I always felt so self-conscience and a bit like a freak. The sales people did their best I guess, but I never really felt they really understood what I was going through. The experience was at best unsatisfying and at it’s worst demoralising. I always thought how nice it would be to buy wigs from someone who actually wore a wig! This is what motivated me to start my own company. I have come to accept wearing a wig and try to enjoy it. I have come to feel beautiful and I like never having bad hair days! This positive attitude and my personal experience of wearing a wig is what make Julie Morris stand out in the wig and hairpiece retail industry. I believe it is every woman’s right to feel beautiful no matter what her circumstances. That is my promise to you.

Me and my friends Tina and Yuko having some fun with wigs!
